Wickedness.Net springs out of a number of concerns and
interests. In particular, these arise primarily from;
- a sense of frustration at the often narrow and sometimes blinkered
approach taken by individual disciplines to deal adequately with evil
and human wickedness
- concern over the apparent irreconcilability of the theoretical disciplines
with experiences of evil and human wickedness or their inability to
make sense of such experiences
- recognition that evil and human wickedness is a multi-layered phenomenon
which demands the inclusion of insights and perspectives from all
disciplines, professions, and vocations if a proper picture of evil
is to begin to emerge
- commitment to the model of the 'reflective practitioner' as a good
way forward for exploring issues of evil and human wickedness
Arising from over 15 years of teaching and research,
the Wickedness .Net Project was officially launched in 1999;
the first conference took place in March 2000 at Lady Margaret Hall in
Oxford - and the work of the project has grown steadily since then. With
5 publications and a regular conference attendance of 70 delegates from
across the globe, the project continues to address cutting edge issues
and to develop tools and resources to help with exploring the questions
and concerns raised by this subject.
We cordially welcome you to Wickedness.Net
